OUCH!

Agony is more like it.  Sliced my finger almost down to the bone,  *sigh* It looks really bad.  I'm a little worried.  It's hard to type without your pointer finger and near impossible to handwrite.  At least the aching is down to a dull throb.

PS: Don't slice your finger open then spin around in pain.  Cause that causes blood to fly everywhere and then you wind up having to mop your floor it's such a mess and you have to wipe down your counter tops and the cabinets cause gushing blood goes everywhere *sigh*  All this after I'd cleaned my apartment from top to bottom.

I passed!!

I thought I'd share the great news with everyone!  I passed!  My thesis passed
last month.  I just got word from my mentor that my Genre Essay has passed!!!
And I received my final evaluation that says in GREAT BIG letters PASS!!

This means I will be graduating in June (not that I ever doubted I wouldn't :D,
but now it's confirmed :D)

All that's left is my teaching presentation, which seeing how I've been teaching
the past 2 years, I'm not worried about that.  I've got my entire lesson plan
done, Power Point presentation done, handouts done, and interactive exercise
planned :D  So I'm good to go.

Can't wait for Mom and Dad to hear my thesis reading!!!!!  Yippee!!! And for
them and Grandpa to see me graduate!  How cool is that I'll have my Masters!

Now maybe it's on for the PhD...who knows where the future might lead.

I passed!!!  I passed!!! YAY!!

We all need a laugh every now and then...

A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from the Louvre.

After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings and made it safely to his van.

However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.

When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then  make such an obvious error, he replied,

'Monsieur , that is the reason I stole the paintings.  I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh.'

See if you have De Gaulle to send this on to someone else.

Axels

5 Clean axels yesterday in my lesson!!!  Of course I also had two doozies of a fall that have left me sore.  Now I just need to KEEP landing clean ones, and hopefully that'll start to transfer over into when I practice on my own doing them, and then into my program.  I've got to continue getting more comfortable with them.

MY next goal is to make them prettier.  I might be landing them, but they need some definite work on "smoothness" and "looking pretty" :)

"Bum Glue"

I love it!  That's my new term of the day (via Emilie)  When I SHOULD be writing, but I'm NOT tell me to apply my "bum glue".  Ahhh too funny.

Never Again

RANDOMNESS OF THIS WEEK SO FAR

- There are some things in life I wish I could see the outcome before I did it.  Never again.  I've learned from my mistakes.

- Doctors appointment today and my blood pressure was 88/58.  That's low even for me.  I'm normally 90/60 to 100/70...today's was the lowest I think I've ever come in at.

- Doing a new formating for the emails in my novel.  Danielle H. you'll be glad to know :D  Especially since you suggested the change...or at least that I change.  I think it'll read much better.

- Lesson tonight, do you think I'll be able to land clean axels two weeks in a row?

Happy Birthday MOM!!

Baby Names

TOP BABY NAMES 2007.  Seeing how Abigail is my top favorite name and it's on the list, I guess I fall into the majority...and I always hated my name cause it was so popular :D  Though the other name I love is Kaeleigh which is not popular :D

My birth year: 1979 - there's the proof!  Told you my name was popular.

Three years!!!

So I went home for Mother's Day yesterday and there's this big envelope with my handwriting addressed to me. I haven't sent out any queries of late and couldn't figure out what could possibly be in my self addressed envelope...especially something addressed to my parents address.

When I opened it I found a rejection letter from a publishing house that I sent the first novel in my series to from almost THREE years ago. THREE YEARS. And what I found even more amusing (asides from the return postage not being enough (postage rates have gone up in three years) and them writing a note that they couldn't return ALL my pages) they actually sent back a few pages from chapter 1, red lined.

Three years to hear back on a query. Maybe that's why I got a few read lines :D  They felt guilty for taking so long.

Hair Piece

So I won this hair clip (and I had to fight over it) on ebay.  I'm thinking of using it for the wedding, however I have some other combs which I love and depending on exactly how the hair ends up will depend on what I use.  Either way I'll be able to use this clip again.
