On the Lam

Encyclopedia Okay! So there's a saying going around on the CoffeeRoom - On the Lam.  I've been asked a few times what it meant, and while I had a guess, I wasn't positive, nor did I know where the saying originated from so I did some research.  For those interested:

The phrase meaning to be on the run from something dates to the turn of the 20th century. It probably comes from the English dialectical verb lam meaning to beat or to strike. To take it on the lam was to be beaten, which was usually followed by running away. Lam may ultimately be of Scandinavian origin, but that isn't definitively known.

So there you go.  She's on the run!

Finally able to check in and catch up on some CJ stuff. Love the research on this topic....I know we chatted about it. =)

Just watched the finale...we are going to have to chat about this one. Read a little bit on the CR...but not all of it. Too tired...it has been a very long weekend.
