Top 5

Okay! So I know everyone has their favorite episodes.  (Do share them if you want).  These are my favorites:

1- Skin & Bone: My all time favorite Crossing Jordan episode.  The morgue staff is one big family. It's been one of the strong points they've really used throughout the four seasons.  And that was the theme loud and strong through this episode.  But it wasn't focused on one member--everyone had such a strong role and portrayed their, worry, love, caring nature each in their way.  In my opinion this was one of the (is) the better character driven episode of CJ.

2- The Gift of Life:This was just a wonderful episode about Jordan's past.  My favorite episode from season one.

3- Perfect Storm: I was so mad for days after this episode because they killed Elaine off!  I loved the tension her character added to the show and her background was just starting to be delved into.  (Plus I took an instant disliking to Peter so that made me even madder that HE was replacing her.  Again this was one of those really emotional character driven episodes (this one internal involving only the morgue staff).

4- Locard's Exchange: Again a group effort episodes (it's a recurring theme, they tend to be my favorites, where everyone is involved in one case).

5- Ockham's Razor: I loved the twist.  Plus I love James.

Runner Ups: Loved these episodes too

After Dark, Digger Part 1 & 2, Is that Plutonium in Your Pocket, Don't Look Back, Fire From the Sky

Det. Matt Seely

So who likes him and who doesn't?

I like him.  Oh I know he (especially in the beginning) came across and a shallow, selfish, pompous jerk, but I think he's been given a little more depth and his interactions with Lily seem to be bringing out a softer (a dare not save sensitive...he's not quite reach that stage) side of him.

W have to allow him some leeway.  He is after all the son of and Newspaper mongrel.  He was brought up with a silver spoon in his mouth and told the world revolved around him.  Give him some credit for going out on his own.

I know he's a chauvinistic pig (or at least acts like it) most of the time, but I sure hope we see more of Seely this year.  I think he adds to the show.

Other options

Driving home on the radio the song The Search is Over (Survivor) came on the radio.  What do you guess think of that song from Jordan's view point leading up till the end of season 4?

Another song I thought was Have a Little Faith in Me (John Hiatt).  Choosing songs are not my strong point.  I either have a song or I don't :)

Oh my Mary thank you for reminding me about the drop dead gorgeous Jordan in a red dress.  Totally forgot about that scene...a definite must have!

Any more suggestions or opinions are welcomed.

Any suggestions?

A bit more fooling around and I realized I can bring in video in my new toy (the movie making program)  So I thought I'd fool around with putting together clips of the best Woody Jordan moments.  So suggestions on what moments those should be.

And does anyone have suggestions on what song I should use...what should Woody's and Jordan's theme song be?

Devan and Elaine

Devan and Elaine: They both happened to be characters I liked (from the beginning). It wasn't necessarily their stunning personality that drew me, but what they added to the show.  They had attitude problems for sure, but beneath it they also had developing stories and their own emotional conflicts. Their characters were necessarily meant to be 'loved'. They did provide a lot of tension--which was their purpose.  But did they earn the themselves the 'I can't stand them' status they seemed to have taken on...I don't think so.

Devan: She's the cheerleader type of Jordan. (and yes I hear your arguments that she was Jordan's replacement--hence automatic dislike...but lets put that aside, just for a moment).  They've got very similar personalities. They're both driven. Their goal is to find the truth (or guilty party) no matter what. They're pushy--they aren't afraid to go after people to get information or help. Jordan does have charmed about her that lets her get away with things without hurting peoples feelings. Devan's your classic perfectionist mixed in with work-a-holic. Those two traits can make her seem pushy at times and a bit harder to approach, but not unlikable (again, in my eyes).

Elaine: Well her objective was to stir up trouble...lots of trouble.  So if you hated her for that, then I'd have to say the writers did their job and did it well.  As Elaine's history started to develop she became much more 'human'.  Was she a pain in the a** - yes most of the time she was.  I still liked her as a character.  Bad guys are evil, but we still like the occasional few...

I've rambled enough.

I'm ashamed to admit I missed something...

It was pointed out to me that I forgot to talk about the almost kiss in You Really Got Me in the Woody/Jordan relationship.  Me of all people missing that!  I'm one of the biggest W/J shippers out there.  I'll update it tonight.  I'll try not to make such mistakes in the future!

An Episode You Loved, but Hated

Okay...this is an attempt to get people to share :)  Give me an episode you loved but also hated and the reason why.  I've got one, which I'll post as soon as someone else gives me theirs.

Hint: Mine is from season 1 and it's the only episode I ever remember Jordan 'professionaly' dressed up in.

Like Father Like Daughter...

A friend and I were having a discussion about Max. And it got really interesting so I thought I'd post about it and let you guys add your two cents to the topic.

My friend made this comment: “I think many of Jordan's problem stem from her rotten relationship with Max.”

My first reaction was she didn’t have a rotten relationship with Max…then I started to think. Maybe we don’t call it rotten, but it sure as hell wasn’t easy. And thinking back to the first episodes of season one: Jordan and Max worked together (they both had that goal of ‘getting the bad guy’) but things were strained between them. Then we added Evelyn into the mix and there was some major tension. Evelyn really doesn’t welcome Jordan. She accepts her because of Max. (In the end Evenly didn’t win out over Jordan though).

I’d never thought much about Jordan’s ‘home life’ growing up. If you think about it though you can see how many of the problems she has today (i.e. not being to open up, trust someone, let things go every now and then…) stem from her relationship with her father. In defense of Max he was left to raise a daughter alone and he had no idea how to do it (remember the underwear discussion about Max buying Jordan ‘boy’ underwear? That’s a perfect example). Before Jordan ever came along his family life wasn’t great. Emily obviously had issues and Max had no idea how to deal with it, despite trying. As much as he loves Jordan I think he’s always been emotionally disconnected from her. He was able to provide physically (food, roof over her head, clothes) but he didn’t know how to be there for her emotionally (don't get me wrong I believe 100% he loved her the best way he knew how). So Jordan grew up with one example of how things worked—being hard headed, strong and emotionally closed off. She didn’t show (much less discuss) her weaknesses and feelings. That’s how dad acted…that’s how she had to act. I never really thought/saw how much Jordan is like her father.

So if we wonder why Jordan is obsessed with justice and can’t open up…well like father like daughter?

Suddenly Jordan’s personality takes on a whole new look. You can understand so much more of her actions…

So like father like daughter? Do you agree? Thoughts.

Intro, of some sorts

Hey, what's up everyone? This is Julia, you might have seen my name float around somewhere on the site... So I thought I'd just drop by, introduce myself and say hi to all you avid CJ fans. I've been working on this site with Jennifer for a while now and although she is the one to thank for all of this, I hope to start doing my part soon.

My job is getting the gallery set up for you guys. So any inquiries you have, send them my way. I'm probably going to start with Season 4 first, since it seems to be the most popular. Though if there are any specific episodes you'd like, I will take requests and try to put them at the top of my list. There are already a couple good galleries out there, but I say the more the merrier.

Also, I will post any original CJ-related art work that's created by fans (that's you guys). I'll even give you your own album once you reach a certain amount of images. If you're interested, feel free to respond to this post, or send me an email here: julia@crossingjordanencyclopedia.com

I think that's all...

Answer to Questions

To answer your questions (Mary)

God I'd love a L&O and CJ crossover too.  Love those two shows.  Though I'd like to see an L&O SVU and CJ crossover even more.  Can you just imagine the possibilities the writers would have?  They could have some fun.

Characters!  I plan to add Dr. Stiles and Maggie.  I'm currently working on those two.  I didn't think of them until after I'd put the site up.  Random things keep coming to me.  Or someone points something out.  To answer your question though I will add Dr. Stiles to the character list (soon hopefully).

Glad you enjoy the site.
